Sunday Football at Hollister Brewing

I must admit that I’m partial to Sundays at Santa Barbara Brewing Company when it comes to watching football. The lounge is usually a good mix of rowdy fans and is filled with pitchers of beer. Or is it that there’s a good mix of beer and it’s filled with rowdy fans? I don’t know.

The other option downtown, as long as you concede the fact that you won’t be going to one of Santa Barbara’s other “Sports Bars,” is Union Ale. But that’s really more of a Monday Night or Sunday Night crowd, as there really aren’t enough TVs around to get the whole slate of games.

But perhaps the most unique experience in the area is out in Goleta at Hollister Brewing Company. While Brewco embraces the party element, Hollister embraces the breakfast element. Breakfast and football are a unique West Coast treat, and Hollister simply nails it. I occasionally find myself let down by Hollister’s standard menu (there are a few brilliant items and a few duds), but love when the chef there goes out to make something new and different (similarly, any beer dinner at Hollister is a must-attend event – if you can get a reservation in time).

With the return of Sunday morning football, breakfast is also back at Hollister. I’ve attached the press release email they sent out today below. See you there.
